Building BeHeardCVA

BeHeardCVA was a mixed-probability, regional survey conducted for Charlottesville and its rural surrounding counties based on the model of BeHeardPhilly. This presentation, given at the American Association for Public Opinion Research, outlines the decision to create the regional panel and the steps taken to support it. The five areas of interest were: systems and operations, marketing and branding, community outreach, panel recruitment, and client development. The team identified the following major challenges: making sure the panel was representative of the region (including rural areas and minority communities), getting clients to cover costs, and whether or not the panel would have a sizeable community impact.
