Barbara Fried

Barbara Fried is president of Fried Companies, Inc., a real estate development and management firm, chairman of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, and a member of the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia. She previously served as chairman of the Sorensen Institute's Statewide Advisory Board. Barbara received a B.A. from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. She holds an M.A. in History from the University of Virginia (2004). She is a member and past chairman of the board for Innisfree Village, a voluntary community for adults with intellectual disabilities. She is a founder of Charlottesville Area Riding Therapy (C.A.R.T.), a non-profit organization located at the Fried Farm.
