Born in India, Gopal Midha is a PhD candidate in the Curry School’s Administration and Supervision program. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts.
At the Cooper Center, Gopal researches national trends in rural community leadership development initiatives, interviews leaders/stakeholders in Southwest Virginia, and leads in the development of a leadership summit in October for individuals currently serving in local government in Southwest Virginia. He is passionate about sustaining practices that support leadership.
Outside of his academic career, Gopal enjoys story-telling and improv theatre. He also plays the flute!

It's about how we can build the capacity of institutions in a way that they respect the people who work within them, as well as honor the needs of the people that they serve.
