The Virginia Institute of Government (VIG), established in 1994 by the Virginia General Assembly, offers customized training, professional development programs, and real-time personal assistance focusing on the “nuts and bolts” of everyday management for all levels of local government officials.
VIG provides consultation services that include facilitating board/council retreats; conducing diversity, equity, and inclusion forums and training; and developing and implementing strategic plans.

AskVIG, through a managed, rapid-response email system, gives localities access to the expertise of government colleagues throughout Virginia.
