Alexandra Rebhorn's Biography

Alexandra Rebhorn comes to the Weldon Cooper Center with over 25 years of experience in higher education communications. Her UVA career began in the Office of Public Affairs (now University Communications), after which she spent a decade leading internal communications in Human Resources. Most recently she served as the communications director for the Office of the Provost. She is excited to help her colleagues share their work thoughtfully and creatively in support of the Cooper Center’s strategic plan, Reimagining Public Service, and develop new approaches to outreach and publicity that will showcase projects led by the Cooper Center’s talented staff and faculty. 

Alex comes to Virginia by way of New York, including ten years in New York City, working for private public relations firms as well as Columbia University and CUNY. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English with Honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; a master’s degree in English at UVA; and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Teachers College at Columbia University.
